Indian cricketer Rinku Singh's wedding with Priya Saroj, the Samajwadi Party's MP, has been pushed back owing to Rinku Singh's cricketing commitments in November 2025.
The presumably set date was November 18th; the original date has been pushed back as per reports from Amar Ujala, a newspaper that has claimed the families of the bride and groom as their source. The new date for the ceremony will supposedly be February 2026.
Rinku Singh and Priya Saroj's Dreamy Engagement
Rinku Singh's marriage news with MP Priya Saroj immediately took the internet by storm. The engagement, which took place on the 8th of June, flooded the internet with remarks about an introvert marrying an extrovert.
It was held at The Centrum, a luxury hotel in Lucknow, which was booked by both families for the grand event. Rinku Singh, the KKR batter, met Priya Saroj, an elected Member of Parliament from the Machhlishahr constituency of Jaunpur district, via prior family acquaintances due to the involvement of the two families with cricket.
“Rinku and Priya have known each other for more than a year now. They both liked each other but needed their families’ consent for the relationship. Both families have agreed to this marriage," Priya Saroj's father was quoted earlier.
The couple got engaged in front of several eminent faces of Indian society at the hotel when they exchanged rings to turn their long-time acquaintance into an official relationship.
The event was marked by the gracious presence of eminent personalities like Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav, renowned actress Jaya Bachchan, BCCI vice-president Rajeev Shukla, and UP teammate Bhuvneshwar Kumar.
Rinku Singh's international career
The dynamic left-handed batter rose to fame after keeping a low profile in the KKR camp for several seasons in the IPL. He has been part of the Kolkata Knight Riders camp since 2018 but came to the limelight following his domination with the bat in IPL 2023.
Rinku scored nearly 500 runs in that edition of the IPL and made some stellar finishes for the Kolkata Knight Riders. Rinku's 5 sixes in a row finish earned him the reputation of a finisher. Since then, he was picked for the Indian T20 side and made his debut against Ireland back in 2023.
Ever since then, Rinku Singh has been an unavoidable part of India's T20 side except for the ICC T20 World Cup in 2024. Rinku has played in 33 T20I games for India and scored 546 runs, averaging 42.00. He has also appeared in 2 ODI games, scoring 55 runs for the Men in Blue.
Rinku Singh's possible cricket commitments this year
As of now, Rinku might not be sure about his international commitments, as India has not announced any possible squad for their upcoming series in the shortest format of the game.
However, going by the schedule announced by the BCCI, India will play their first T20I series against Bangladesh this year from the 26th to the 31st of August. This will be followed by another major tournament, the Asia Cup, in September 2025.
The time for Rinku's wedding, previously fixed in November, will find the left-hander busy on his first tour to Australia, where India will take on the Aussies in a 5-match T20I series. This will be followed by another home series against the Proteas.
With a packed schedule, Rinku and Priya Saroj's family had to postpone the wedding plans, which reportedly have been shifted to February 2026, with official dates yet to be confirmed.
