Rishabh Pant Is Someone Who Scares His Own Team - Mohammed Siraj Recalls Dressing Room Atmosphere On Day 5 At The Gabba
Indian pace bowler Mohammed Siraj praised fellow teammate and explosive wicket-keeper batter, Rishabh Pant, claiming that the youngster can instil fear in his opponents’ hearts during a match.
Recalling the events on Day 5 at the Gabba, Siraj spoke about the confidence they were filled with once Pant got his innings going. They believed that as long as the 24-year-old was at the crease, a victory was always possible.
“It’s difficult to put into words how nervous the dressing room was. Rishabh is someone who scares his own team. Just imagine the effect he must have on the opposition. We were all hoping and praying for Rishabh to stay in.”

The Gabba win will go down in Test history as one of the most famous wins and the comeback in the series after the Adelaide debacle is the icing on the cake. As expected, the second-string Indian side celebrated wildly after the historic win.
“When Rishabh was going for his shots, we kept thinking hold on. Stay in just a little longer. Everyone was so happy that we broke Australia‘s record at the Gabba.
“Just thinking about the celebrations gives me goosebumps even now. I can never forget the victory lap around the ground. Indian flag in hand, thanking all the fans,” he added.
Since that series, Siraj’s Test career has been on the rise and he has been part of a few more memorable away victories.
