Rishabh Pant walks out with nasty blows after a tough day against South Africa A

Indian wicket-keeper batsman Rishabh Pant was ruled out of the game after sustaining a fracture during their tour to England, and it took nearly two months to return to the field. On his return to India A, he is yet to fire with the bat but has shown a glimpse of his usual batting standards.

In the second unofficial Test, he sustained several blows, first on his helmet while attempting an unorthodox ramp, then on his left elbow in an attempt to pull on a ball, and lastly, a third one that hit his abdomen.

He had a word with the physio on the field and decided to leave the field, retiring hurt, calling in Dhruv Jurel as his replacement.

Rishabh Pant had a short stay in the first innings, with Dhruv Jurel sealing his India spot at the back of a strong show

While Rishabh Pant made his way for the second unofficial Test, he looked determined to continue his dominating run from the previous game, after having led his team to a win in the previous match. However, things did not go as planned for the skipper, though he looked like he was advancing with sheer confidence.

Pant promoted himself to his natural position for the second game, which marked the return of Indian players KL Rahul and Dhruv Jurel in the batting order, as they replaced Rajat Patidar and Ayush Badoni in the XI.

Pant scored 24 runs off just 20 balls with three fours and a six; however, he was dismissed by Tshepo Moreki's bowling, the same bowler who attacked him and hit him multiple times in the second innings while he was batting 17.

Pant led India to a win in the First Unofficial Test

Rishabh Pant has often been called one of the most reckless yet one of the most dependable players when it comes to winning matches for the team. Pant has stood for India on several such occasions over his Test career and usually dominates the game with his risky brand of striking.

Pant scored a 90 off just 113 balls in the second innings of the first unofficial Test. His innings, alongside contributions from the India lower-order batters, Ayush Badoni, Tanush Kotian, Manav Suthar and Anshul Kamboj, helped India chase the target set by the Protea batters.
