The BCCI has named star Indian batsman, Rohit Sharma as the vice-captain of team India for the last two Tests against Australia. Notably, Rohit didn’t travel along with team India to Australia after the conclusion of IPL 2020. He went to the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bangalore and completed his rehabilitation.

The NCA cleared him and he flew to Australia on December 15. Rohit Sharma joined the Indian team on December 29 and has been with the side doing the practice drills.  Virat and Rohit were reportedly not on good terms ever since the 2019 world cup and the rumours also enhanced when Virat complained about lack of clarity on Rohit’s fitness.
