Former Pakistan cricketer Atiq-uz-Zaman lauded the Indian team for their T20 World Cup win and roasted the current Pakistan team under Babar Azam. India won their second T20 World Cup title by beating the South Africans by seven runs in the final.

India scored 176/7 and restricted the Proteas to 169/8 in their 20 over. They had a 24-run over from Axar Patel in the 15th over which brought down the equation to 30 off 30 balls. The Indian bowlers then kept a tight grip on the SA batters from there on and the Proteas finally succumbed under pressure.

India, finally won the match by seven runs to end an 11-year wait to win an ICC World Cup title. Meanwhile, Zaman lauded Rohit Sharma and co and in the process criticised the Pakistan team who were knocked out of the tournament in the group stage itself. He further urged the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chief Mohsin Naqvi to save the nation’s cricket from ‘rotten eggs’.

Former Cricketer Slams Babar Azam's Pakistan Cricket Team After India's World Cup Triumph

“When everyone is honest, selected on merit, play for the badge on the chest, and play to win, they become champions. Rohit Sharma is a class leader. Dear @TheRealPCB and @MohsinnaqviC42  sahab, save Pakistan cricket from the rotten eggs. Learn from India. Watch their emotions,” Zaman said.

In his next post, he spoke about the different sentiments between the two teams. He said that the Pakistan players are more hungry for captaincy as opposed to the Indian team who enjoys success together.

“Hamarey players Kaptani kai liye rorahai hain. Indian players World Cup jeet kai rorahai hain. Yeah hota hai Jazba,” he wrote further.

Zaman, the former Pakistan cricketer further criticised Pakistan’s coaching system and compared it with India’s. Earlier, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke with the likes of Rahul Dravid, Rohit Sharma, and Virat Kohli after the win. India's World Cup win saw Rohit and Kohli announce their T20I retirements together. Ravindra Jadeja followed suit retiring from the format on Monday, June 30.

Meanwhile, Atiq-uz-Zaman's comment on this post was about the lack of proper coaching mentality within the Pakistan cricket team. Gary Kirsten was roped in as the new coach of the Pakistan team ahead of the T20 World Cup. He started his stint when Pakistan played against England in a bilateral series.

Kirsten accused of the players not listening to his coaching methods and accused the team of being biased and having groups within the team. Pakistan were eliminated in the group stage after losses to the USA and India.
