The electric atmosphere at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai during the second semifinal of the T20 World Cup 2026 has given the fans some funny and memorable moments, and one of them involved India’s ODI captain Rohit Sharma.

Rohit Sharma, who retired from Test and T20I cricket, is the brand ambassador of the ongoing T20 World Cup 2026 and was present at the iconic Wankhede Stadium, where the defending champions thrashed England by seven runs in the last-over thriller on Thursday, March 5.

While waiting for the interview to begin, India’s ODI captain suddenly started doing shadow batting with the microphone in his hand, and most importantly, he looked so serious, like he was just about to face a delivery. The moment quickly caught everyone’s attention around the ground.

Rohit looked relaxed and playful, swinging the mic like a bat and imagining shots in the air while the crowd roared in the background at the Wankhede Stadium. This showed how deeply the big semifinal between India and England had pulled everyone into the excitement on Thursday.

Hardik Pandya was the standout bowler for India with two scalps. Jasprit Bumrah, Axar Patel, Arshdeep Singh, and Varun Chakravarthy took one wicket each.

‘Where’s the Rest of You?’ Brendon McCullum stunned by Rohit Sharma’s slim new look

Meanwhile, the England camp was surprised to see the new look of Rohit Sharma during the T20 World Cup semifinal in Mumbai. The former captain looked much slimmer, and his big fitness transformation quickly became a hot topic around the ground.

Former England captain Eoin Morgan and head coach Brendon McCullum also noticed the change immediately. Both were amazed by how much weight Rohit had lost in recent months.

Seeing the dramatic fitness change of Rohit, Morgan could not hide his surprise and asked, “In the shape of your life?" What’s going on?” The Hitman replied to him, “Just chilling.”

But it was McCullum who summed up the moment perfectly when he looked at Rohit and joked, “Where’s the rest of you?” Rohit quickly responded with a smile, “It’s all gone."

Notably, Rohit has already dropped nearly 10 kilos as he focuses strongly on fitness while chasing his 2027 ODI World Cup dream.
