Rohit Sharma rewrites history books with whirlwind 92-run knock against Australia; here's full list of records

Rohit Sharma, on Monday (June 24), starred with the bat to power India to a huge total against Australia in the Super 8 game of the ongoing ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2024.

The India skipper led from the very front and played one of the best knocks by an Indian in the T20 World Cup to guide his team to its highest total in the ongoing competition. The right-handed batsman smashed 92 runs as India finished their innings on a mammoth 205 for 5 at the Daren Sammy National Cricket Stadium, Gros Islet, St Lucia.

Asked to bat first, India were off to a poor start as Josh Hazlewood dismissed Virat Kohli for a five-ball duck in the second over. However, Rohit Sharma made his intentions clear in the very next over by hitting Mitchell Starc for 4 sixes and a four. He did not look back after that over.

Rohit Sharma led India's charge with the bat in the first half of the innings before being dismissed by Starc in the 12th over. He completed his fifty off just 19 balls in the fifth over to score the fastest fifty of the ongoing T20 World Cup.

The India opener eventually departed in the 12th over after being bowled by Starc. His 92-run knock came off just 41 balls and was studded with 7 fours and 8 sixes. It was truly a Rohit Sharma show that has put India in the driver's seat. And while the India skipper missed a well-deserved ton, he managed to achieve numerous feats thanks to his brilliant knock.
