Rohit Sharma's Place In The Indian Playing 11 Still Not Confirmed: Ravi Shastri

Indian Head coach, Ravi Shastri has stated that Rohit Sharma’s place in the Indian Playing XI for the third Test is still not guaranteed. Notably, Rohit Sharma is set to join the Indian team from Wednesday. He flew to Australia on December 15 and his quarantine ends on December 29.

Rohit Sharma suffered an injury during IPL 2020. The BCCI didn’t name him in the Indian team in any of the formats initially. Rohit then went on to play in the IPL. He has been with the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bangalore ever since returning from the IPL. The NCA cleared him to fly for Australia on December 11.

Ravi Shastri Denies Rohit Sharma’s Confirm Position In The Indian Playing XI For The 3rd Test

Indian head coach Ravi Shastri spoke to the media after the conclusion of the second Test in Australia. He confirmed that Rohit Sharma will be joining the Indian team on Wednesday. But he also stated that Rohit’s pace in the final eleven is due for assessment. Shastri mentioned that the team will first speak to Rohit before taking any decision.

“Rohit joins the team tomorrow. We will have a chat with him to see where he is placed physically because he has been quarantined for a couple of weeks. We will have to see now how he feels before we take the call,” said Shastri.

India To Take On Australia In The Third Test From January 7

Team India beat Australia by 8 wickets in the Boxing Day Test. The India National Cricket Team was right on the money as they avenged their Adelaide humiliation in style. They beat the mighty Australians in the Melbourne Test by 8 wickets.

Now, India and Australia will collide in the third Test from January 7 at Sydney. Star Indian opener, Rohit Sharma will join the side from the third Test. Australian opener David Warner will also join the side from the third Test of the Border-Gavaskar trophy.
