Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) scored an own goal during the 34th match of the IPL 2025 season against Punjab Kings (PBKS) at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium. RCB announced a special offer with their official quick commerce partner—free delivery for the next 30 minutes whenever they crossed 100 runs.

The Punjab Kings defeated Royal Challengers Bengaluru by five wickets at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium on Friday, April 18. PBKS moved to second place on the points table with five wins from seven matches. Meanwhile, the Rajat Patidar-led side suffered their third straight home loss of the season.

The match was reduced to a 14-over-per-side affair after a rain interruption. After being asked to bat first, the hosts managed to score only 95 runs for the loss of nine wickets. Tim David was the lone warrior for the team, scoring an unbeaten 50 off just 26 balls. Rajat Patidar chipped in with 23 runs off 18 balls.

Nehal Wadhera Guides PBKS Home After Some Nervous Moments

Nehal Wadhera held his nerve during a tense chase as Punjab Kings secured the five-wicket win over Royal Challengers Bengaluru. Chasing a modest 96-run target, PBKS lost early wickets with Prabhsimran Singh, Priyansh Arya, Shreyas Iyer, and Josh Inglis falling cheaply, leaving the team in trouble at 53/4.

Josh Hazlewood (3/14) and Bhuvneshwar Kumar (2/26) bowled well for RCB. However, Wadhera played a composed knock under pressure, scoring an unbeaten 33 off just 19 balls. He counterattacked leg-spinner Suyash Sharma with a flurry of boundaries. Marcus Stoinis, who sealed the win with a six off Yash Dayal.

Despite Royal Challengers Bengaluru's loss, Tim David was named Player of the Match for his half-century and two crucial catches. PBKS and RCB will face off again on April 20 at the New PCA Stadium in New Chandigarh for their reverse fixture.
