RR will miss Jos Buttler who was crucial to their league stage success at the start of the tournament. The Royals won six out of their first seven games and looked unbeatable at one point. This has been a historic turnaround for RCB. At the halfway point after all teams played seven games, RCB were at the bottom of the points table. From there on, they won six out of their final seven games to stage a memorable comeback and get to the playoffs. 

This is the ninth time they have made it to the playoffs. RCB have played two finals as well but has yet to win the IPL title. They have had a fair bit of luck going their way since the last six games and maybe this is their year.

Pitch Conditions 

GT posted 231 in their final league game at this venue against Chennai Super Kings. The pitch is known to be a good one for batting and stays true throughout the 40 overs. With big hitters on both sides, we can expect a high-scoring contest. There is no rain threat as well.

Form and Fitness 

Form-wise RCB are better placed after six wins on the trot as they made it to the playoffs. RR seems to have stuck after four consecutive losses after getting to 16 points.

They will have to identify the loopholes and get them sorted ahead of the contest. There are no fitness concerns in either camp. However, there is no Jos Buttler for RR in the playoffs which is a major blow to the side.

Faf has been very active as a skipper in RCB's resurgence in the lead-up to the playoffs.
