Ruturaj Gaikwad equals Gambhir and Dravid's record
After scoring the century, Ruturaj Gaikwad equalled the record of former India captain and current head coach of the India team, Gautam Gambhir, for scoring the most centuries in List A games for the national side. Ruturaj, alongside Gambhir and Rahul Dravid, all now have 21 centuries in List A matches, with the CSK skipper having the chance to surpass the two former India captains.

India A posted a good total
With the kind of form Ruturaj has shown in the List A games, he should be considered as a backup for the 50-over format, given the versatility he provides, as he can bat at no.3 and no.4 as well. So he should be in contention for the upcoming ODI series and also for South Africa in case India needs a solid middle-order batter.
Coming to the game, Tilak Varma won the toss and opted to bat first. Vabhav Sooryavanshi did not have the best of starts, being dismissed on 14 runs. But Tilak and Gaikwad struck a partnership of 150 runs between them, with the former scoring 60 runs as India posted a total of 277/6 at the end of 50 overs.
