He then shifted gears with ruthless intent, smashing another 80 runs in the next 54 deliveries to move to 180 off 126 balls before storming to his double century in only 141 balls. At the first-class level, Hyderabad’s Tanmay Agarwal still holds the record with his 119-ball double century achieved in early 2024. For Shaw, this inning carried far more meaning than just records. After a difficult phase that saw him go unsold in the IPL 2025 mega auction and switch from Mumbai to Maharashtra for a fresh start, he finally delivered a statement knock.
