Veteran pacer S Sreesanth recently made his much-anticipated return to action through the ongoing Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. The former India pacer returned to competitive after more than seven years because of the ban imposed on him for his involvement in the 2013 IPL spot-fixing scandal. And it did not take him long to hit the headlines for all the wrong reasons.

He faced criticism from a section of the fans after sledging Mumbai youngster Yashasvi Jaiswal during the league stage game earlier this week. The incident took the cricketing fraternity by surprise as several slammed the veteran pacer for trying to get under the skin of the young opener with his verbal volleys. One such fan took to Twitter to criticise the pacer and it all ended with a brilliant reply from the bowler himself.

Calling out the pacer for his behaviour, the user tweeted: “Someone tell @sreesanth36 a long run-up & sledging doesn’t make anyone a world-class fast bowler. But getting hammered after you sledge makes it clear you’re more bluster than a bowler.”

S Sreesanth noticed the tweet and was quick to reply to it, writing: “Thnks a lot for the information..really appreciate ,u took time out to write this. I always give the very best to every delivery, and that was some great pick up shots nd he is a very good nd he is gonna keep getting better ,proud of the way he plays nd may god bless him nd family.”

The user was blown away by the response from S Sreesanth and stated that the cricketer taught him a lesson on how to deal with criticism, writing:

“I just got a lesson from  @sreesanth36 on how to deal with criticism on social media. He didn’t block me or deflect. Instead, he earned my respect.”
