SA vs SL: Watch - Marco Jansen Bamboozles Kusal Perera With An Excellent Delivery In World Cup 2023

The 23-year-old South Africa National Cricket Team left-arm seamer Marco Jansen bamboozled the 33-year-old Sri Lanka National Cricket Team batter Kusal Perera in the fourth match of the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi on Saturday, October 7.

Defending the target in the match, Jansen got the opening breakthrough for his team as he removed Pathum Nissanka for a duck on his maiden World Cup delivery.

After losing the opening wicket, Kusal Mendis started the carnage and hammered the Proteas bowlers. His batting partner Perera was just watching like a spectator from the non-striker’s end as Mendis completed his fifty in no time.

Perera kept playing second fiddle to Mendis and then got out for a low score. On the fifth ball of the 8th over, Jansen bowled a length ball that generated some extra bounce and Perera was reluctant to go forward. The batsman stayed in his position and the ball went through the gate to knock over the stumps. Perera was back into the hut after scoring 7 runs off 15 balls, with 1 four.

Earlier, batting first, South Africa posted a score of 428/5 on the board, thanks to sensational innings of Quinton de Kock, Rassie van der Dussen, and Aiden Markram.

Several records were broken during South Africa’s historic innings against Sri Lanka. Markram completed his century off 49 balls, with 14 fours and 3 sixes, he created history with his knock as his ton was the fastest hundred in a World Cup match.

As Aiden Markram, Rassie van der Dussen, and Quinton de Kock completed their tons, South Africa created history as this was the first time that three players scored hundreds in the same innings in a World Cup match and overall fourth time in ODIs.

South Africa’s score of 428/5 is the highest-ever total achieved by a team in the history of the World Cup. Also. this was the 3rd time South Africa registered the 400-plus total in the World Cups.
