Legendary batsman Sachin Tendulkar congratulated Suryakumar Yadav, Ishan Kishan, and Rahul Tewatia for earning their maiden call up to the Indian T20 side for England T20s. BCCI announced a 19-man squad for the upcoming 5-match T20I series against England, starting on March 12, and a lot of names popped up for the first time in the Indian squad as rewards for their performances.

Ishan Kishan who has consistently improved as a batsman for Mumbai Indians hit an excellent knock of 173 for Jharkhand in the ongoing Vijay Hazare Trophy while Surya Kumar Yadav has been knocking on the doors of the Indian team for a long time now with consistent performances for Mumbai Indians. Rahul Tewatia had an excellent IPL with the bat and ball for the Royals last year and made his way into the Indian team.

Playing For India Is The Highest Honour – Sachin Tendulkar

Sachin Tendulkar had come up with heartfelt congratulations for the new players picked up in the auction and he also specially mentioned Varun Chakravarthy who returned to the Indian squad after missing out on Australia due to injury. He explained the amount of honour associated with representing the country and wished them a lot of success in his tweet on Twitter.

“Heartiest congratulations @ishankishan51, @rahultewatia02 & @surya_14kumar for your maiden call up to the Indian Team, and also to @chakaravarthy29, who missed out in Australia. Playing for India is the highest honour for any cricketer. Wishing you all a lot of success,” Sachin Tendulkar tweeted.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar Returns for England T20s

Senior Bowler Bhuvneshwar Kumar has been missing out from the Indian squad for a while now due to injuries and is back in the team while Jasprit Bumrah has been rested. Manish Pandey, Sanju Samson, Ravindra Jadeja, Mayank Agarwal and Kuldeep Yadav is the names missing out from the tour to Australia. Axar Patel has returned to the Indian limited-overs team after playing his last white ball game for India in 2018.
