Former India allrounder Sanjay Bangar has picked his top five bowlers of this generation. Bangar played in international cricket as a player from 2001 to 2004.

He represented India in 12 Tests and 15 ODIs, scoring over 600 runs in addition to taking 14 wickets. Bangar also enjoyed a long career in domestic cricket. Sanjay Bangar made his debut in first-class cricket in the 1993/94 season and played his last game in 2013. Overall, he played 165 first-class games as well as 112 List-A games.

After bringing down the curtains on his playing career, Sanjay Bangar has been plying his trade as a coach. He has worked as a coach with the Indian team as well as a number of IPL teams. The 51-year-old has been seeing the top players in the world operate from very close quarters thanks to his association with international cricket as well as IPL.

And he has now named his top five bowlers in the world. Speaking on The Rao Podcast, the former allrounder began by picking India pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah before picking Mohammed Shami. Bangar followed it up by picking Australian duo Josh Hazlewood and Pat Cummins and New Zealand's Trent Boult.

Virat Kohli should have continued: Sanjay Bangar

During the same podcast, Sanjay Bangar also said that Virat Kohli should have continued to lead the Indian team in Tests for a longer period. Just a couple of months after being sacked as the limited-overs captain, Kohli stepped down as the Test captain too in 2022.

Kohli ended his tenure as India's most successful captain in the longest format of the game. He led India to 40 Test wins and became the first-ever Indian captain to win 30 or more Tests. As a captain, he also did well with the bat, scoring 5864 runs at an average of almost 55.
