Saqlain Mushtaq Set To Be Retained As Head Coach By PCB For The Upcoming Australia Series – Reports

Saqlain Mushtaq is all set to be retained by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) as head coach for the upcoming all-format series against Australia National Cricket Team.
As per a report in Daily Jang, Pakistan Cricket Board has decided to retain Saqlain Mushtaq as head coach for the upcoming series against Australia because there’s not much time left to hire a new coach. Notably, Mushtaq had earlier resigned from his position after he and PCB were not on the same page.

The process of appointment of a new head coach for the Pakistan National Cricket Team is still on but it will take some time and the decision has been made to “give Saqlain Mushtaq another chance”.
The sources state that the Pakistan Cricket Board officials were involved in the ongoing season of the Pakistan Super League, as a result, the names have not been shortlisted for the head coach position.
“Saqlain Mushtaq, who wanted to return to England, is now ready to continue working with the team,” reports state.
Pakistan Test Squad For The Series Against Australia To Be Announced Soon
Cricket Australia (CA) had confirmed that Australia will be touring Pakistan as per schedule after 24 long years. Also, CA recently announced a full-strength Test squad for the tour. The tour consists of a three-match Test series, which will be played from March 4 to 25, a three-match One Day International series, which will be played from March 29 to April 2, and a sole T20 International match, which will be played on April 5.
Meanwhile, the PCB will soon announce the Test squad for the series against Australia. Also, a training camp for the preparations of the series is expected to start from February 16 in Rawalpindi.
