Just Happy That I Can Pursue Both My Passions - Saurabh Netravalkar

Saurabh Netravalkar expressed happiness about pursuing both his passions. He described dismissing Virat Kohli as an emotional moment. Netravalkar noted that his strategy to target Kohli's off-stump was successful in that instance.

"I am just happy that I can pursue both my passions. It is all happening very fast and I am in the process of digesting it. These last two games were really high-profile. It was an emotional moment to get Virat's wicket. I was looking to hit off-stump and it worked out well," Netravalkar said on Wednesday in the post-match press conference.

The former Mumbai cricketer, now working as a coder for Oracle, played a crucial role in the USA's historic victory over Pakistan. He performed well in the Super Over. He took four wickets in the tournament with an average of 13.00 and an impressive economy rate of 5.20 across three matches in the T20 World Cup 2024.

We Were Talking About Our Dressing-Room Banter - Saurabh Netravalkar

Saurabh Netravalkar mentioned that he had shared the Mumbai dressing room with Rohit Sharma and Suryakumar Yadav in the past. The left-arm pacer said that he knew Suryakumar Yadav from their junior cricket days. Netravalkar also said that Virat Kohli congratulated him after his performance against India.

"I know Surya from my U-15, and U-17 days, we were talking about our dressing-room banter. I didn't know Virat personally but he did congratulate me," Netravalkar added.

The USA is set to play Ireland at Central Broward Regional Park Stadium Turf Ground, in Florida on Friday, June 14. They are currently in second place in Group A after victories over Canada and Pakistan.

A win against Ireland will secure their spot, and if the match is washed out, it will also favor them to reach the Super 8 stages. The match is likely to be washed out due to persistent poor weather conditions in Florida throughout the week.
