Left-arm fast bowler Shaheen Afridi has finally broken the silence and posted a special message for Pakistan cricket team after he was surprisingly dropped for the final two Tests of the series against England.

Recently, the newly formed selection panel of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) decided to drop three high profile players from Pakistan's squad for the second and third Tests.

Babar Azam, Shaheen Afridi, and Naseem Shah dropped

Those three names are Babar Azam, Shaheen, and Naseem Shah. The decision to drop these players in a single attempt came as a huge surprise for the fans and the cricket experts.

These three names are easily the most famous names in the cricket team and dropping them altogether was a huge decision by the management.

Shaheen Afridi wishes best of luck to Pakistan

After being dropped from the Pakistan team, Shaheen Afridi wished best of luck to the Pakistan cricket team for the second Test against England at Multan. Afridi took to social media to express his thoughts in which he hoped for a strong comeback from the team.

"Wishing Team Pakistan the best of luck! Rooting for a strong comeback. We're all cheering for you!" Afridi posted on X (formerly Twitter).

Shaheen Afridi had a poor game at Multan in the first Test. The left-arm fast bowler finished with 1-120 in 26 overs in the only innings that Pakistan bowled. All the Pakistani bowlers toiled hard in the match as England piled up a mammoth first innings total of 823-7.

England scored the runs at an outstanding run rate of 5.48 runs per over which forced the result of the match. The visitors won the match on the fifth day by bowling out Pakistan for just 220 in the second innings. England won the match by an innings and 47 runs.

Shaheen Afridi's constantly declining numbers

Afridi had a disappointing Test series against Bangladesh as well. He picked up 2 wickets in the only Test match that he played at Rawalpindi at an average of 48. Despite the pitch offering seam movement and bounce to the fast bowlers, Afridi was unable to be at his best and struggled to land the ball consistently at one area.

His numbers in Test cricket have been constantly on a decline. Overall, he has played 31 Tests for Pakistan and picked up 116 wickets at an average of 27.88. The 24-year-old will be aiming to make a comeback into the national team soon.

In the Test series against Australia played last year, Afridi picked up 8 wickets in 2 Tests at an average of 41.62. The pitch offered good bounce as it often does in Australia but Shaheen Afridi's struggles continued.
