In a dramatic twist that has stunned the cricket world, the Pakistan cricket team has been reportedly rocked by a sensational off-field incident involving Test captain Shan Masood and premier pacer Shaheen Afridi.

It is being reported that Afridi and Masood were involved in a heated physical altercation in the dressing room in Rawalpindi.

Shan Masood and Shaheen Afridi were allegedly involved in a physical confrontation

Reports revealed that tensions boiled over in the Pakistan cricket team camp, leading to a dramatic confrontation between the skipper and the left-arm pace sensation in the middle of the ongoing two-match Test series against Bangladesh at home.

The scuffle reportedly unfolded at the Pakistan dressing room during the first Test against Bangladesh, leaving players and officials stunned by the intensity of the fight.

Notably, the hosts had suffered an embarrassing defeat of 10 wickets in the first Test against Bangladesh in Rawalpindi.

Meanwhile, Masood, known for his disciplined approach and calm demeanor, and Afridi, a fiery fast bowler with a reputation for his aggressive on-field presence, were allegedly involved in a fierce confrontation, which turned into a physical clash in the dressing room.

Did Shaheen Afridi and Shan Masood really fight?

The news was first shared by the parody account of Mufaddal Vohra, a cricket news aggregator, in which it was claimed that Afridi and Masood were involved in a physical fight in the dressing room.

The tweet even claimed that Mohammad Rizwan tried to sort it out, but they started beating the Pakistan wicketkeeper-batter too during the scuffle.

The X post reads: “Shaheen and Masood had a physical fight in the dressing room. Rizwan tried to sort it out, and they started beating him too. Black Day for Pakistan Cricket.”

However, there is no factual data to support this claim of the fight between Shan Masood and Shaheen Afridi and there is a very high chance of it just being a speculation/a piece of false news.

This development comes at a critical time for the Pakistan team, as they are currently gearing up to save their pride by winning the second and final Test against Bangladesh following their embarrassing defeat in the first Test in Rawalpindi.

It was actually the other incident involving Shan Masood and Shaheen Afridi where the pacer removed the hand of the skipper from his shoulder which raised serious concerns about team unity and the internal dynamics within the Pakistani set-up.

However, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is yet to release an official statement regarding this matter, but speculation is rife that this episode could have significant consequences for the team’s preparation and performance in recent times.

With the squad already facing challenges on the field, this internal strife may make things worse for the Men in Green. Earlier, Afridi was dropped from Pakistan’s Test squad for the second and final Test against Bangladesh, which was due to start on August 30, but the heavy rainfall played its game.

The umpires called off the play on the opening day of the Rawalpindi Test without even having the toss.
