Shahrukh Khan Bought By DC, Shardul Thakur Bought By PBKS A Day Ahead Of IPL Auction 2024

Amidst the craze of the IPL auction 2024 set to be held in Dubai on December 19, one of the official broadcasters of the cash-rich league, Jio Cinema, organized a mock auction. The event consisted of many cricket experts and veteran cricketers, who sat on behalf of their favorite teams and bid for them.

At one end ace Australian pacer Mitchell Starc received the privilege to become the most expensive player of the mock IPL auction and was bought at a whopping price of INR 18.5 crore by Royal Challengers Bangalore.

Young South African bowler Gerald Coetzee who showed a lot of potential in the recently concluded 2023 ODI World Cup was picked for INR 18 crore by Gujarat Titans. Starc’s teammate and World Cup-winning captain Pat Cummins went to Sunrisers Hyderabad for INR 17 crore.

Apart from big names such as Pat Cummins and Mitchell Starc, Indian bowler Shardul Thakur will also be one of the big names that will go on the IPL auction table.

Thakur has the knack of picking up wickets in the middle overs and also contributes handy runs with the bat. Though, as far as the IPL 2024 mock auction is concerned, Thakur was bought by Punjab Kings at INR 14.5 crore.

Shardul Thakur represented Kolkata Knight Riders in the 2023 edition of the Indian Premier League, wherein while playing 11 games, he managed to pick seven wickets at an economy and average of 10.48 and 31.43 respectively. This performance was certainly below the standards of Thakur and he would want to turn things around in IPL 2024.

Tamil Nadu batsman Shahrukh Khan was one of the names who garnered headlines while playing for Punjab Kings and till now has scored 33 IPL games and scored 426 runs at a strike rate of 134.81.

Shahrukh is a free-flowing batsman and can hit lusty blows by coming down the order. However, Khan will also be on the IPL auction pool and will be looking to find new buyers. However, in the mock auction INR 10.50 crore by Delhi Capitals.
