Shakib Al Hasan's Wife Reacts To The Backlash Against Her Husband Following The All-Rounder's Shocking Behaviour During The Dhaka Premier League

Bangladesh star all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan has been in the headlines for all the wrong reasons as his angry behaviour towards the umpires sparked hate amongst the cricketing fraternity. The incident erupted during the ongoing Dhaka Premier League on Friday. While several former and current cricketers were expectedly disappointed by his act, Shakib’s wife has a different take on the reactions.

The match between Mohammedan Sporting Club and Abahani Limited saw Shakib Al Hasan losing his composure twice within two overs. The spin-bowling all-rounder kicked the stumps to dislodge it out of the ground and finally threw the stumps to express his dissatisfaction towards the on-field umpire’s decision. After the umpire denied Shakib a wicket when he appealed against Abahani’s Mushfiqur Rahim, he kicked the stumps and moments later, he uprooted it, threw them in anger when the umpires called for the covers to save the pitch from rain.

Later, as Shakib Al Hasan’s shocking behaviour began going viral on social media, the veteran apologized for the same. The 34-year old issued a statement, regretting his actions and understands that an experienced cricketer like him should not have resorted to such deeds. He also revealed having apologized to all the stakeholders involved and promised not to repeat such things in the future.

Shakib Al Hasan’s wife Ummey Al Hasan, underlined that it feels good to see people having the guts to stand up against all odds. But she criticized the media for not telling the public about the wrong decisions of the umpires and only highlighting Shakib’s hunger. Ummey believes that it is all a plot against him going on for a long time to portray her husband as a villain under all circumstances.

“I’m enjoying this incident as much as the media is, finally some news on tv! It is great to see the support of the people who can see the clear picture of today’s incident at least someone has the guts to stand against all odds. However it is sad to see the main issue getting buried by the media highlighting only the anger that he showed. The main issue is the ongoing eye catching decisions of the umpires! The headlines are really saddening. To me it is a plot against him that has been going on for awhile to portray him as the villain in all circumstances! If you are a cricket lover beware of your actions!,” Ummey Al Hasan said as quoted by India Today.
