Shikhar Dhawan all set to feature in ILT20 2025? David White reveals

Shikhar Dhawan announced his retirement from international and domestic cricket on Saturday, August 28. He retired from all formats of the game having played for the Indian team for more than 10 years.
Having last played international cricket for India in 2022, Shikhar Dhawan decided to hang his boots after not getting a national call-up for almost two years. Shikhar Dhawan retired from international cricket after scoring the most number of runs for India in the 2013 Champions Trophy, 2015 ODI World Cup, 2017 Champions Trophy, and the 2018 Asia Cup.
Shikhar Dhawan's career includes several significant achievements, such as being the Player of the Tournament in the 2013 ICC Champions Trophy and amassing over 6,793 runs in One Day Internationals at an impressive average of 44.1 and with a strike rate of 91.35.
The left-handed opening batter signed off from the sport with more than 10,000 international runs to his name, a majority of those coming in the ODI format, including 17 centuries and 39 half-centuries.

However, days after announcing his retirement from the game, Shikhar Dhawan announced that he will be playing in the upcoming season of the Legends League Cricket (LLC). Now, The ILT20 officials are looking to get him on board. ILT20 CEO David White spoke on the possibility of Dhawan playing in the tournament.
The third season of the DP World International League T20 is all set to run from January 11 to February 9, 2025. Meanwhile, earlier this year, the league became the first associate run-T20 league given a List A status by the ICC. The month-long tournament will feature 34 matches at the three UAE cricket venues – Dubai, Sharjah, and Abu Dhabi.
ILT20 CEO David White spoke on his recent visit to Mumbai about the possibility of the former Indian southpaw joining the league. Clarifying his take he said that there have been conversations in that direction however, nothing official can be said about it as yet.

"Yep. I think that there's been some inquiries in that direction. But that's only happened in the last 24 hours. So I haven't got anything to report on that, but there's certainly interest.
"But we've no idea of whether he's going to carry on playing cricket of that standard or not, but as soon as we heard the news, we were making some enquiries, but we've had no more information so far. We are just trying to investigate whether he has retired fully from cricket or not. I'm not going to hide that there is an interest, of course," he said, as quoted by TOI.
Shikhar Dhawan broke the news of his retirement on his social media platforms taking the internet by storm. He looked back at his international career and said that he is retiring with countless memories and gratitude.
