Shoaib Akhtar Makes Early Prediction For This Year's India vs Pakistan T20 World Cup Clash

Former Pakistan bowler Shoaib Akhtar believes that Pakistan is a better side in T20Is compared to India and will beat their arch-rivals when they meet in this year’s T20 World Cup in Australia.

ICC confirmed the schedule for T20 World Cup 2022 where India is once again grouped alongside Pakistan. The two sides will meet in Melbourne at the iconic MCG with Babar Azam and co. having won their last duel.

This should give Pakistan a lot of confidence and even more importantly, their T20 side is one of the best and certainly edges their rivals in all three departments. Therefore, Akhtar is quite sure that it will be Men in Green who will trump once more.

Pakistan reached the semifinals of the T20 World Cup 2021 before losing to eventual champions, Australia. They ran through the group stage unbeaten and were the favorites after the Super 12 stage.

“We will beat India again in Melbourne. Pakistan is a better side than India in T20 cricket. It’s the Indian media that make unnecessary pressure on their team whenever we have the clash of both countries in cricket, it’s normal for India to lose,” Akhtar told Times Now.

India would have undergone plenty of changes by the time, with Rohit Sharma leading the team in place of Virat Kohli who has relinquished captaincy in all formats.
