Former Pakistan skipper Shoaib Malik is in trouble after being accused of match-fixing during the ongoing Bangladesh Premier League. Fortune Barishal terminated Shoaib Malik’s BPL contract, citing suspicions of match-fixing during their game against the Khulna Riders.
Shoaib Malik came under scrutiny for bowling three no-balls in the match against the Khulna Tigers. Malik bowled only one over during the match and conceded 18 runs, with two boundaries and a six. Fortune Barishal suffered an 8-wicket defeat in the match.
Before this development, Malik planned to travel to Dubai for personal reasons, prompting Fortune Barishal to officially announce his absence from the remaining matches. However, reports suggest that the owner has abruptly decided to terminate Malik’s contract.
