Shreevats Goswami claims that the One-Day International World Cup is still the pinnacle and that One-Day International is the best white ball format.

The cricketing world is in agreement about the demanding schedule, which includes 365 days of franchise cricket, ICC events, and bilateral series. The cricket community has criticized the crowded schedule ever since England all-rounder Ben Stokes retired from ODI cricket at the age of 31, particularly when the nearly final draught of the ICC Future Tours Programme 2023–2027 leaked to the public.

Influential former cricketers and opinion leaders have expressed their opinions on “too much cricket,” “cut down on bilaterals,” and “players are not robots,” among other topics. Players are undoubtedly getting burned. They are worn out, and playing all three formats is becoming more and more challenging.

The ecosystem of franchise tournaments is constantly expanding, which has reduced the financial stress but raised the strain on their bodies. Are the three formats enduring? Stokes does not agree. At least among larger teams, “workload management” has emerged as one of the most often used terms.

Many former cricketers have referred to bilateral matches as “meaningless” in light of the ODI Super League’s impending cancellation. However, the triangular and quadrangular series will return for the upcoming FTP, with Pakistan prepared to make the official move.

“I would never say it. Any game in which you play for your nation cannot be pointless. Since T20 cricket became so popular, yes, people or fans may have lost some interest in ODIs, but it is still enjoyable” Shreevats Goswami Said.

“The ODI World Cup continues to be the finest. The Tendulkar and Warnes have wowed us in ODI World Cups as we have all probably been watching them. I feel that the tri-series and quadrangular must return to keep things interesting. It merely adds a level of excitement “Shreevats Goswami, who is currently playing for Flowery Field Cricket Club in Manchester, continued.

The trend in international bilaterals, however, is changing. The next ICC FTP will feature more games between bigger teams.
