In a heartwarming moment after India’s crushing 2-0 Test series win over the West Indies at home, Captain Shubman Gill carried forward the tradition begun by MS Dhoni and then followed by both Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma by handing the series trophy to Narayan Jagadeesan.

Even though Narayan Jagadeesan didn’t get a chance to play in the two-match Test series, the young Indian wicketkeeper-batter got a moment in the limelight, as Shubman Gill decided to create a heartwarming memory for him by giving him the chance to lift the trophy.

Well, Shubman Gill lifted the trophy high as his teammates gathered around to celebrate the victory. The moment was filled with joy and pride as the Indian cricket team posed for photos, standing proudly with the champions’ hoarding and the gleaming trophy.

Meanwhile, Ravindra Jadeja was named Player of the Series for his contribution with both bat and ball in India’s 2-0 Test series win over the West Indies at home. The Indian all-rounder scored 104 runs and scalped 8 wickets in the two-match Test series at home.

After being adjudged Player of the Series, Jadeja emphasized giving his 100 percent with both bat and ball to help the team win, saying his performance reflects his value as a player.

Jadeja said at the post-match presentation, “I just focus on contributing with both bat and ball to help my team win. I always look forward to doing that. I feel if I don’t perform with bat and ball, then it doesn’t reflect my value as a player. I’m always keen and give my 100 percent. I think this is my third Man of the Series trophy, so yeah, I’m very happy to bring it back home.”

Notably, India added 12 crucial points to their World Test Championship tally with a commanding 2-0 series win over the West Indies at home. While the visitors showed courage and determination throughout, they couldn’t match India’s depth and consistency.

The West Indies displayed remarkable fight, especially after being asked to follow-on on Day 3 in the Delhi Test. John Campbell and Shai Hope have smashed solid centuries, while Justin Greaves and Jayden Seales made India work hard for every breakthrough in Delhi.

The pitch remained steady, allowing batters from both sides to settle and play their shots. In the end, India chased down the modest 121-run target comfortably. Despite losing two early wickets on the final morning, KL Rahul played a calm and steady innings, scoring a crucial fifty to guide India to a seven-wicket win over the West Indies in the second and final Test on Tuesday morning in Delhi.
