Punjab Kings (PBKS) trolled the Rajasthan Royals (RR) on the social media platform after they suffered a defeat against the Delhi Capitals (DC) in the ongoing IPL season. The Punjab used Salman Khan's viral phrase to mock their rivals, taking revenge for a recent social media taunt aimed at them this season.
Delhi Capitals secured a clinical seven-wicket victory over Rajasthan Royals at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur on Friday, May 1. The Axar Patel-led team chased a huge 226-run target in 19.1 overs. KL Rahul scored 75, and Pathum Nissanka added 62, overshadowing Riyan Parag’s brilliant 90 runs in the match.
Punjab Kings took advantage of the Rajasthan Royals losing their home match to the Delhi Capitals. The franchise posted a mocking message on X (formerly known as Twitter) on Friday night, using the same phrase Rajasthan had earlier used against them this season to respond strongly.
"Sorry bhai, aaj nahi! #RRvDC #IPL2026," Punjab Kings posted on their official X account. The post quickly gained traction, with fans reacting to the trolling even though Punjab Kings were not involved in the match.

Rajasthan Royals Spark Social Media Banter With Viral Salman Khan Reference
The social media exchange began after Rajasthan Royals defeated Punjab Kings on April 28, ending Punjab’s strong run in IPL 2026. Rajasthan celebrated the win by using a viral 2014 tweet from Salman Khan, which originally questioned whether Preity Zinta’s team had won, turning it into a playful dig.
Rajasthan Royals also shared a video featuring Donovan Ferreira with his Player of the Match award. In the clip, Ferreira looked at the camera and said, “Sorry bhai, aaj nahi,” directly referencing the viral line and mocking the Punjab Kings after their unbeaten streak ended in that match.
The post quickly gained traction across social media, with fans reacting strongly to the exchange. It sparked a light rivalry between the two teams online, and Punjab Kings later responded after Rajasthan’s loss to Delhi Capitals, using the same phrase to return the banter.
Delhi Capitals pulled off a strong chase to beat Rajasthan Royals by seven wickets at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium on May 1. They chased 226 in 19.1 overs, marking their highest successful run chase in IPL history.
Rajasthan Royals chose to bat but lost Yashasvi Jaiswal and Vaibhav Sooryavanshi early. Riyan Parag and Dhruv Jurel rebuilt the innings with a 109-run partnership from 59 balls. Parag scored 90 off 50, while Donovan Ferreira finished unbeaten on 47 off 14 to take the score to 225/6.
KL Rahul and Pathum Nissanka added 110 runs in 57 balls. Rahul scored 75 off 40, while Nissanka made 62 off 33, his first IPL fifty. Nitish Rana added 33 off 17. Jofra Archer, Tushar Deshpande, and Ravindra Jadeja took one wicket each. Rahul was named Player of the Match.
