Cricket South Africa (CSA) has announced the schedule for a Tri-Series featuring South Africa, West Indies, and India. This T20I Tri-Series is set to commence on 19th January where each team will play 4 matches and the final is scheduled on 02nd February.
All the matches are going to be played at Buffalo park and the final is scheduled on 2nd February. This T20I Series is expected to be a fascinating one as all the 3 teams are highly competitive. South Africa would be hoping that they get ample match practice as they are already placed in a precarious group of Australia, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, and New Zealand.
CSA on Tour
CSA Director Enoch Nkwe announced the T20 Tri-Series. “These two sides [India and West Indies] are up there with the most talented and entertaining nations in women’s T20 cricket, having featured in two of the last four finals, with the West Indies lifting the trophy in 2016,” This will give the Momentum Proteas a highly competitive build-up to the ultimate prize of the T20 World Cup,” said Nkwe.
Crucial Tri Series
ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2023 is scheduled to take place in February just after the conclusion of the Tri-Series. India and West Indies would be hoping that they quickly get acclimatized to the conditions. It won’t be wrong to say that Proteas is in a phase of the reconstruction as the team has not performed according to its credentials. West Indies on the other hand would sense that they can be the party spoilers in the T20 WC.
Indian Women’s Cricket team is high on confidence after winning the Asia Cup 2022. They have a golden chance to win the T20 World Cup and would be hoping that they go one step ahead as last time they had lost in 2020 against Australia. India is placed in a dangerous position of the West Indies, England, Ireland and Pakistan and it would be a great contest. Indian Cricket Team has shown that they are unbeatable on their day and would be hoping that they continue their momentum.
