South Africa takes on Afghanistan in the first semi-final of the T20 World Cup 2024 in Trinidad on June 27. The match starts at 6 am IST. They have a realistic chance now of making it to their first-ever T20 World Cup final.

South Africa are on a seven-match winning run. This has been their best T20 World Cup by far. They have beaten teams like, England, the West Indies, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, the USA, and Nepal. The Proteas have beaten England and West Indies in the Super 8s.

This South African team also looks the most balanced in many years. This is their first T20 World Cup semi-final appearance and they look the side to beat. This time around, they have enough depth in both batting and bowling departments.

The Proteas managed to defeat co-hosts West Indies in their final Super 8 game and eliminate them from the tournament. However, in Afghanistan, they face a challenging opposition who have knocked out teams like New Zealand and Australia. They have their big-match players performing and the side would like to play the same XI that played against West Indies.
