South Africa have named their T20 World Cup squad. They have several players in form after their recent stint in IPL 2024. All the players from the squad are fit and raring to go as they look to end their title-less campaign in ICC events. This time around, they have enough depth in their batting line to challenge bowlers across teams.

South Africa will be under just a little bit of pressure having lost the T20I series against West Indies heading into the World Cup.

Quinton de Kock (WK)

De Kock will open the batting for South Africa. He did not have the best of IPL seasons and struggled in the T20I series as well. He is playing just one format and would love to win the World Cup before he retires.

Reeza Hendricks

Hendricks will open the batting with De Kock. He led the side in the absence of the regular players against West Indies and batted well. He will have a key role to play with the bat.

Aiden Markram (C)

Markram, the skipper will bat at three. He did not play too many matches for SRH in the IPL. After a break, he should return fresh. He replaces Temba Bavuma as the skipper of the T20I side.

Tristan Stubbs

Stubbs cab bat at four. He flourished at that position batting for Delhi Capitals in IPL 2024 scoring 378 runs at a strike rate of 190. South Africa can look to give him a longer run starting with the World Cup.

David Miller

Miller will slot in at five. He is amongst the best middle-order batters in T20I cricket and relishes batting at that number. The southpaw is a proven performer and will back himself to perform for the national side.

Heinrich Klaasen

Klaasesn will slot in at six. He scored nearly 500 runs in the IPL this season at a strike rate of 170 hitting 38 sixes. His role will be taking on the spinners in the middle overs.

Marco Jansen

Jansen can slot in at seven. He is a good all-rounder with plenty of potential with bat and ball. His ability to swing the new ball makes him a good bowling option too.

Gerald Coetzee

Coetzee can bat at eight. He has a reputation for being a big hitter lower down the order and can bowl consistently at 140. His pace can unsettle the Lankan batters.

Keshav Maharaj

Marahraj can bat at nine and will be one of the two premier spinners. He recently played in the IPL. The left-arm spinner is a seasoned campaigner and will be crucial in the middle-overs.

Kagiso Rabada

Rabada will lead the pace attack for South Africa. He and Anrich Nortje are the two fastest bowlers in this competition. He did not have a good IPL season ending with just 11 wickets this season.

Tabraiz Shamsi

The leggie concludes the likely playing XI for South Africa. He and Maharaj bowls well in tandem and hence he is a key part of the bowling attack.
