This is the second time that the Proteas and West Indies are playing a T20I series this year. The WIndies whitewashed them in the previous series at home. Once again South Africa is on the Caribbean shores for another T20I series.
The two teams have played 23 T20Is with the Proteas winning 11 games and West Indies 12. The Windies have won four out of the last five games between the two sides. South Africa last won against West Indies in the T20 World Cup 2024.
the Proteas had an unbeaten World Cup campaign but they lost to India in the final. This was the first time they reached an ICC final but unfortunately lost.
Quinton de Kock, Heinrich Klaasen, David Miller, Keshav Maharaj, Kagiso Rabada, Anrich Nortje, Marco Jansen, and Tabraiz Shamsi all of whom played in the T20 World Cup have been rested for this series.
They have plenty of young players and they have added two new uncapped players as well Kwena Maphaka and Jason Smith who is an upcoming all-rounder. In this article, we take a look at South Africa's predicted XI for the first T20I against West Indies.
