Mumbai Indians (MI) will take on the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the 33rd match of IPL 2025 at the Wankhede Stadium, scheduled to be played on Thursday, April 17. This article provides details about SRH's playing 11 vs Mumbai Indians for match 33 of IPL 2025
SRH Playing 11 vs Mumbai Indians- IPL 2025, Match 33:
Openers: Travis Head, Abhishek Sharma
The left-handed opening duo of Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma, who created a reputation for going hard from the first ball during the last season, found their mojo back in Sunrisers Hyderabad's last game against PBKS.
Both Travis and Abhishek took on the opposition bowlers in a record chase of 246 runs and guided the team to a memorable win.
Abhishek, in particular, was in no mood to show mercy on any bowler as he played with an attacking approach right from the first ball and was lucky to get caught off a no-ball, which allowed him to keep on attacking the bowlers and score his maiden century in IPL in the process
Head for a change played second fiddle to Abhishek. Having said that, the left-hander also scored a crucial half-century and took Sunrisers Hyderabad to only their second win of IPL 2025
Middle-Order Batters and All-Rounders: Ishan Kishan (wk), Nitish Kumar Reddy, Heinrich Klaasen, Abhinav Manohar, Aniket Verma
Sunrisers Hyderabad would hope for their middle-order batters to come good against Mumbai Indians in the upcoming game, as they have failed to make a significant contribution and have perished in an attempt to play aggressively throughout the 20 overs in previous matches, something which the orange army would like to change against MI
The Sunrisers Hyderabad batting lineup began the 2025 IPL season on a positive note with Ishan Kishan taking the aggressive route and scoring his maiden IPL century on his debut for SRH.
The left-hander has not lived up to the expectations since then and has accumulated low scores while batting at number three for SRH.
Having said that, the batting of Aniket Verma has been a positive for Sunrisers Hyderabad despite a string of defeats, as the young batter has shown good temperament against spin in the middle overs
Bowlers: Pat Cummins (c), Harshal Patel, Mohammed Shami, Zeeshan Ansari, Eshan Malinga
Sunrisers Hyderabad would be disappointed by the form of experienced fast bowler Mohammed Shami, who has leaked runs with the new ball and in the death overs, and gave away 75 runs in the last match against PBKS, which included 27 runs in the last over, with Marcus Stoinis hitting him for four consecutive sixes
Other than Shami, SRH captain Pat Cummins has also failed to deliver consistently for the former champions and hasn't been able to pick up wickets in the middle overs, in addition to going for runs, which has resulted in the team not being able to restrict the opposition to a low total
As far as SRH's spin bowling department is concerned, it is being handled by young Zeeshan Ansari, who is the sole spinner in the playing XI in the absence of Adam Zampa
