SRH vs GT: Aakash Chopra picks three players to watch out for in the upcoming match

Former Indian cricketer Aakash Chopra picked Travis Head among the SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) players to watch in their upcoming match against the Gujarat Titans (GT). Aakash Chopra stated that Travis Head is effective despite his batting style not being elegant.

The Pat Cummins-led team will lock horns with the Shubman Gill-led team at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad on Thursday, May 16. The Hyderabad team is in fourth place in the 10-team points table, while the Titans are in eighth place.

The Hyderabad-based team aims to win the next match to secure a berth in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 playoffs. The victory will also help the SRH team finish in the top two. The Gujarat Titans, on the other hand, are already eliminated from the event.

Very Difficult To Go Beyond The Two Openers - Aakash Chopra

In a video shared on his YouTube channel, Aakash Chopra picked Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma as the key players for SRH in the upcoming match. Chopra praised both players for their hitting prowess and noted their slightly different styles.

"It's very difficult to go beyond the two openers. One is Travis Head and alongside him is Abhishek Sharma. Both are incredible players and both hit a lot. They have slightly different playing styles," Chopra said.

"Travis Head - who it seems like tries to hit the ball hard. He is slightly short-statured, opens his front leg, and plays a lot across the line. His batting doesn't have beauty but why do you need beauty? You need runs. It's not a picture that needs to be beautiful. His batting is effective. He scores a lot of runs," he added.

Travis Head is the leading run-getter for SRH in the IPL 2024. Head has scored 533 runs at an average of and a strike rate of 201.89. Abhishek is the second-leading run-getter for SRH, smashing 401 runs at an average of 36.45 and a strike rate of 205.64.

A Style Slightly Similar To Yuvraj Singh

The cricketer-turned-commentator drew parallels between the batting styles of Abhishek Sharma and Yuvraj Singh. Chopra described Abhishek's technique as traditional and orthodox, stating that he can hit sixes effectively.

"If you see Abhishek Sharma, he plays with a high backlift, a style slightly similar to Yuvraj Singh, slightly traditional and orthodox where he looks like a player who uses the long levers. He too hits sixes and very far. So these are my two players," Chopra further stated.

Aakash Chopra picked Pat Cummins as the bowler to watch for SunRisers Hyderabad against the Gujarat Titans. Chopra praised Cummins for his captaincy and bowling prowess. He stated that targeting the batsmen's weaknesses.

Cummins has taken 14 wickets in 12 innings at an economy rate of 9.25. Only T Natarajan has taken more wickets than the Australian pacer among the SunRisers Hyderabad squad this season.
