Pat Cummins, who was bought for ₹20.25 crore by SunRisers Hyderabad in the auction, was appointed as captain. Cummins has turned fortunes around in the tournament with aggressive gameplay. The 2016 IPL champions are likely to reach the playoffs after missing the last three editions.

The 31-year-old  has taken 14 wickets in 12 matches at an average of 31.71 and an economy rate of 9.25, with the best bowling figures of 3/43. Cummins is the second-highest wicket-taker for his team, trailing behind T Natarajan, who has bagged 15 wickets with an average of 24.53.

It Was A Lot Of Fun - Travis Head

Travis Head expressed his delight at the victory after receiving the Player of the Match award. The Australian opener highlighted the enjoyable partnership with Abhishek Sharma. Head mentioned their focus on maximizing the powerplay and their unawareness of the net run rate.

"It was a lot of fun. Abhi and I have forged along some good partnerships and it was great fun again batting with him. I was trying to get into position early and react to the ball. Got ahead of the rate in the first few overs and I felt we could maximise the powerplay. The last twelve months, the Australian team wanted me to bat like this and here it was the same thing," Head said.

"Yeah beautiful for him to get a good score today. He works very hard and nice to see him get some runs today. We complement each other so well. We didn't think about the net run rate till the time out when the guys told us about that. I want to take this pitch everywhere. Chasing has been a bit tough for us and hopefully we keep on the good work in the remaining games," he added.

Hyderabad can secure a spot in the playoffs by winning one of their remaining two matches. If they achieve 16 points, the net run rate will become the deciding factor. Their next game is against the Gujarat Titans (GT) at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium on May 16.
