SRH vs LSG Match Preview- IPL 2024, Match 57

Sunrisers Hyderabad

SRH came back to winning ways against RR as they won by one run but then lost to Mumbai Indians. Despite the loss, they have managed to cling on to the fourth spot on the points table.

Chasing has been their major problem this season something that the opposition teams have noticed. Batting first and piling up big totals remains their strength and they have been pretty good at doing that.

SRH batters Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma have been key to them getting good starts just like Phil Salt and Sunil Narine for KKR. Their batters have given them the cushion of extra 20-30 runs to defend totals.

The template for success is set for them and they would like to make it count by playing at home. Their batting was a bit below par last game and back at home where they achieved a lot of success they would be gunning to win the remaining three games.

SRH Squad

Pat Cummins (c), Abdul Samad, Abhishek Sharma, Aiden Markram, Marco Jansen, Rahul Tripathi, Washington Sundar, Glenn Phillips, Sanvir Singh, Heinrich Klaasen, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Mayank Agarwal, T. Natarajan, Anmolpreet Singh, Mayank Markande, Upendra Singh Yadav, Umran Malik, Nitish Kumar Reddy, Fazalhaq Farooqi, Shahbaz Ahmed, Travis Head, Vijayakanth Viyaskanth, Jaydev Unadkat, Akash Singh, Jhathavedh Subramanyan

Lucknow Super Giants

The season has been a mixed bag from LSG winning six games and losing five. They have won some close games but have been outplayed in a few games, especially against KKR. The Knight Riders won the previous game by 8 wickets at home and in Lucknow piled up 235 with the bat and bowled out the opposition for just 137. The defeat has rung the alarm bells for LSG.

Lucknow Super Giants will play their remaining three games away from home and the challenge for them will be to take the pressure and find a way to win games.

They made a few mistakes in terms of playing their best XI against KKR and can look to change the combination against SRH. Injury to Mohsin Khan might come as a big blow for LSG who might miss him in the next match.

LSG Squad

KL Rahul (c), Quinton de Kock, Nicholas Pooran, Ayush Badoni, Kyle Mayers, Marcus Stoinis, Deepak Hooda, Devdutt Padikkal, Ravi Bishnoi, Naveen-ul-Haq, Krunal Pandya, Yudhvir Singh, Prerak Mankad, Yash Thakur, Amit Mishra, Shamar Joseph, Mayank Yadav, Mohsin Khan, K. Gowtham, Arshin Kulkarni, M. Siddharth, Ashton Turner, Matt Henry, Mohd. Arshad Khan

SRH vs LSG Key Battles

KL Rahul vs Bhuvneshwar Kumar

Rahul has been slow to start in the last few games. This is where Bhuvi has the chance to dismiss him early and set the pace for SRH in the match.

Marcus Stoinis vs Pat Cummins

The two Australian teammates will come face to face against each other and look to outdo each other. Stoinis has been in good form with the bat and started well against KKR. For SRH to win, they must dismiss him early.

Nicholas Pooran vs T Natarajan

The southpaw will come up against the SRH death overs specialist in the final overs. This contest might well dictate the result of the match. Pooran played for SRH in IPL 2022.

Travis Head vs Naveen Ul Haq

The SRH opener has been in red-hot form this season and will look to take on the LSG bowlers on a placid Hyderabad pitch. Naveen's change-ups and slower deliveries might work in his favor like it did against Phil Salt.

Abhishek Sharma / Heinrich Klaasen vs Ravi Bishnoi

The two batters have been severe against spinners hitting 28 and 31 sixes respectively. Ravi Bishnoi will need to bowl to them with a big heart and look to dismiss them early.

SRH vs LSG Key Players

For SRH, Travis Head and Abhishek Sharam will be key with the bat. Heinrich Klaasen is key in the middle-order. With the ball, they have relied on their seamers to get the job done and hence Cummins, Bhuvi, and Natarajan will be key.

For LSG, KL Rahul, Marcus Stoinis, and Nicholas Pooran will be key with the bat. It will be interesting to see whether they include either of de Kock or Mayers in the lineup. With the ball, Naveen, Bishnoi, and Krunal will be key.

Weather and Pitch

The temperature will be around 27 to 30 degrees in the evening, and The humidity levels will be around 70 percent, There is a five percent chance of rain but the clouds might clear out by the evening.

Talking about the pitch, Hyderabad has been a high-scoring venue with SRH themselves posting 277 against MI earlier this season. We can expect this game to be another high-scoring contest.

Conclusion

A win for SRH will take them close to the playoff berth while the challenge for LSG will be to win away from home in their remaining three matches.
