On Thursday, June 26, Zimbabwe Cricket (ZC) announced that the Sri Lanka National Cricket Team will be coming to the Land of the Brave for a full-fledged series in August-September 2025.

Zimbabwe Cricket (ZC) confirmed that the Chevrons and the Sri Lanka National Cricket Team will he locking horns with each other in five white-ball matches that will be hosted by Harare.

Sri Lanka to travel to Zimbabwe for two ODIs and three T20Is

Sri Lanka tour of Zimbabwe 2025 consists of a two-match ODI series and a three-match T20I series. The series will start with an ODI match on Friday, August 29, and the second ODI game is scheduled to be held on Sunday, August 31.

After that, the action will shift towards the T20I series. The T20I series opener will be played on Wednesday, September 3, followed by the second T20I on Saturday, September 6. The third and final T20I of the series will be played on Sunday, September 7. Notably, all five matches will be played at Harare Sports Club.

Zimbabwe will be using the T20I series against Sri Lanka as preparations for the upcoming ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Africa Regional Final, which will be played from September 19 to October 4.

If the Chevrons perform well in the series against Sri Lanka, they will be heading into the regional tournament high on confidence and can become one of the two African qualifiers for the ICC T20 World Cup 2026, which will be co-hosted by India and Sri Lanka.

Talking about the upcoming series against the Lankan Lions, ZC Managing Director Givemore Makoni said that they are delighted to host Sri Lanka and hope for a competitive series.

“We are delighted to confirm Sri Lanka’s visit to Zimbabwe for what we expect to be a thrilling and competitive series,” ZC Managing Director Givemore Makoni said.

“Matches between our two nations have always produced entertaining cricket and this tour comes at a crucial time for our team as we prepare for the upcoming T20 World Cup qualifying campaign.”

Ahead of the series against Sri Lanka, Zimbabwe will be hosting South Africa for a two-match Test series and then take on the Proteas and New Zealand in a T20I tri-series at home. Also, they will host New Zealand for a two-match Test series.
