Team India’s vice-captain and wicketkeeper-batsman, KL Rahul, posted an emotional message four days after the team’s loss in the ICC World Cup 2023 final to Australia. KL Rahul expressed the pain of the defeat and mentioned how it hurt him and his teammates.

The Rohit Sharma-led team failed to secure their ODI World Cup title as they suffered a six-wicket loss at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on November 19. The Indian batters struggled against the Australian bowlers, managing to score 240 runs in 50 overs.

Rahul received criticism for his slow innings despite being India’s highest scorer in the summit clash. He failed to accelerate after settling at the crease and scored 66 runs off 107 deliveries. He played 49 dot balls while accumulating 52 singles and five doubles.
