Malti Chahar, sister of Deepak Chahar, has lashed out at the critics for targeting her brother after he was forced to walk off the field during the game between Chennai Super Kings and Punjab Kings at the MA Chidambaram Stadium on Wednesday (May 1).
The injury-prone pacer suffered yet another setback as he walked off the field after bowling just two deliveries. He opened the bowling for the defending champions and pulled out of his delivery stride while running in for the third ball of the over.
Deepak Chahar talked with captain Ruturaj Gaikwad before deciding to leave the field. He did not take any further part in the game. Shardul Thakur had to complete the Rajasthan pacer's remaining over. With Deepak Chahar walking off and the likes of Matheesha Pathirana and Tushar Deshpande not available, CSK went on to suffer a crushing seven-wicket defeat against Punjab Kings.
Malti Chahar reacts to criticism faced by Deepak Chahar:
Deepak Chahar was forced to miss a couple of games due to a niggle earlier this season too. With the pacer suffering yet another injury setback, he faced severe criticism and trolling on the social media. Several fans even urged CSK to release the injury-prone pacers.
With the fast-bowler finding himself in the firing line of the disgruntled fans, Malti Chahar came out in his defence. She took to X (formerly Twitter) to urge the critics to back her brother to make a strong comeback instead of targeting him for his injury setbacks.
"Stop being so insensitive guys! Nobody is enjoying these injuries! He is trying his best and he will comeback stronger!," wrote Malti Chahar.

Match review in short:
Talking about the game, CSK posted 162/3 in the allotted 20 overs after being asked to bat first. Barring captain Ruturaj Gaikwad, who scored 62 runs, no other CSK batter could touch the 30-run mark. In reply, PBKS chased down the total in less than 18 overs by losing just three wickets.
CSK are currently at the fourth spot in the points table with five wins and as many defeats. On the other hand, PBKS have moved up to the seventh spot with their fourth win of the season.
