Sunil Gavaskar Wants India To Win World Test Championship And The ODI World Cup

Sunil Gavaskar, a former captain of the Indian cricket team is hopeful that the Indian team can bounce back this year. He identified two titles that he wants the team to win – the World Test Championship and the ODI World Cup – and hopes that India can also win the Asia Cup.
As the head of the Sportstar Aces Awards jury, Sunil Gavaskar underlined the value of studying the world’s best athletes and their training regimens in order to maintain championship mode. Gavaskar thinks that seeing successful people increases an athlete’s drive to succeed. He continued by saying that a positive indicator of advancement in Indian sports is a rise in personal bests.

Sunil Gavaskar Reveals His Wishes For The Upcoming Tournaments
“It is the availability of watching top stars in the world, to also be able to participate in competitions with them, learn their training methods and how they sustain the championship mode that has helped the Indian athletes elevate themselves,” said Gavaskar, the chairman of the jury for the Sportstar Aces Awards.
“When you see a champion being felicitated, you also want to be one. And when your athletes are improving their personal bests, that is when you know everything is on the right track,” said Sunil Gavaskar.

Sunil Gavaskar is optimistic that the Indian squad would improve this year, despite the fact that the year gone by was a difficult year for Indian men’s cricket.
“There are two titles that I’d like the Indian men’s team to win — one is the World Test Championship and the ODI World Cup is the other.
“There is, of course, the Asia Cup in between these two. If that comes back to India, nothing quite like it,” he said.
Australia will be a challenge for the Indian women’s cricket team when they play them in the T20 World Cup quarterfinals, according to Sunil Gavaskar. He thinks that the Indian women’s team needs one significant victory, akin to the men’s team’s success in Australia in 2018–19, to lift their spirits. Indian cricket and women’s sports, in general, will benefit greatly if the Indian women’s side defeats Australia and wins the World Cup.
“Australia has been a stumbling block for quite a while. The women’s team will need that one big win like the men’s squad in 2018-19 in Australia. If the Indian women manage to get past the Aussies and go on to win the World Cup, it will be a big boost,” said the legendary Indian opener.
