Suryakumar Yadav is an Indian international cricket player, also known as Sky. Suryakumar Yadav, popularly known as ‘Mr. 360 Degree’, is a right-handed aggressive batsman and represents the Mumbai team in domestic cricket. Suryakumar plays for Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League (IPL). On the basis of his stormy batting, Suryakumar has made his own identity in the cricket world. Suryakumar Yadav received his primary education from Atomic Energy Kendriya Vidyalaya, Mumbai. After this he was admitted to Atomic Energy Junior College, Mumbai and then Pillai College of Arts, Commerce and Science, Mumbai. Where he completed his B.Com studies. After this, he joined cricket coaching because he had been very interested in cricket since childhood.
When Suryakumar Yadav was 10 years old, his father, seeing his passion for cricket, enrolled him in a cricket camp at BARC Colony in Chembur. At the age of 12, he went to the Alf Vengsarkar Academy where he learned the nuances of the game from former Indian great Dilip Vengsarkar. After this Suryakumar participated in club cricket in Mumbai for Gymkhana Cricket Club. Suryakumar Yadav started his cricket career in 2010. On 11 February 2010, he played for his home state Mumbai against Gujarat in the Vijay Hazare Trophy. In which he scored a quick 41 runs in 37 balls and was the second-highest scorer of the match. A few months later, he made his T20 debut playing for Mumbai against Hyderabad in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. He was out on the score of 5 runs and the team had to face a big defeat by 7 wickets. At the end of 2010, Suryakumar Yadav got a chance to debut in first-class cricket against Delhi. He scored the maximum 73 runs in the match.
Suryakumar Yadav batted stormily in the 2011-12 Ranji Trophy and was the top scorer for Mumbai by scoring 754 runs in 9 matches at an average of 68.54. He scored a double century against Orissa in his third match of the season and scored another century in the next match. Suryakumar has more than 1000 runs in his name at U23 level in the 2011-12 season. Seeing Suryakumar’s consistently excellent form, he was made the captain of the Mumbai team before the 2014-15 Ranji season. However, he left the captaincy shortly afterwards to concentrate on his batting. Suryakumar was also appointed the captain of Mumbai for the 2020-21 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy.

Impressed by Suryakumar Yadav’s excellent performance in domestic cricket, Mumbai Indians (MI) signed him for Rs 10 lakh in the 2012 IPL season. However, due to the presence of legendary players like Sachin Tendulkar, Rohit Sharma and Kieron Pollard, he did not get a chance to play. Then in the 2014 IPL auction, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) bought Suryakumar Yadav for Rs 70 lakh. He made headlines in IPL 2015 when he played a match-winning inning of 46 runs with five sixes in 20 balls against Mumbai Indians. He remained associated with the KKR team for almost four years.
Seeing the aggressive performance of Suryakumar, Mumbai Indians again included him in their team in 2018. That season, he became the highest run-scorer in the tournament for Mumbai Indians with a total of 512 runs. He played an important role in Mumbai winning the IPL title for the fourth time. Suryakumar Yadav was retained by Mumbai Indians in IPL 2023 for Rs 8 crore.

Suryakumar Yadav International Cricket Career:
T20Is:
After working hard in domestic cricket and IPL, Suryakumar Yadav got a chance to play for the Indian cricket team in 2021. On March 14, 2021, Suryakumar made his debut in T20 International cricket against England. Although Suryakumar did not get a chance to bat in his first match, he played an inning of 57 runs in the fourth T20 of the series. He hit a six on his first ball and became the first Indian to do so in a T20 International.
After this, Suryakumar Yadav did not look back and created a distinct identity in T20 cricket with his explosive batting. He was a part of the Indian team in the 2021 T20 World Cup, in which he played four matches and scored 42 runs in three innings. He continued his explosive batting in the T20I series against Ireland in 2022 and on 30 October 2022, Suryakumar regained the number one position in the ICC T20I batsmen’s rankings. Suryakumar Yadav has proved to be the ‘X-factor’ for India in many T20 International matches.

Suryakumar Yadav made his ODI International debut against Sri Lanka on 18 July 2021. In his first One Day International match, he scored an unbeaten 31 runs. On 21 July, he scored his first ODI half-century against Sri Lanka. However, Suryakumar has not been able to showcase his explosive batting in ODIs. He has played a total of 31 ODI matches so far, in which he has scored 669 runs with his bat at an average of 26.76. During this period he has scored four half-centuries.

On 9 February 2023, Suryakumar Yadav made his Test debut against Australia at the Vidarbha Cricket Association Stadium, Nagpur. Playing against Australia in March 2023, Suryakumar Yadav became the only Indian batsman to score a golden duck thrice in a 3-match ODI series.
