Suryakumar Yadav Inches Closer To No.1 Ranked Mohammad Rizwan In ICC Men's T20I Rankings

The International Cricket Council (ICC) released the latest ICC Men’s Player Rankings on Wednesday, October 5, and the star India National Cricket Team middle-order batter Suryakumar Yadav has inched closer to becoming the No.1 ranked batter in the ICC Men’s T20I Batting Rankings.

Suryakumar Yadav continued his sensational form with the bat in the recently concluded three-match T20I series against South Africa National Cricket Team. In three matches, he smashed 119 runs to bag the Player of the Series award.

The ICC Men’s T20I Batting Rankings is led by Pakistan National Cricket Team wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Rizwan, who has 854 rating points, and following him on the list is Suryakumar with 838 rating points. Pakistan National Cricket Team captain Babar Azam is at the No.3 spot with 801 rating points.

The star India National Cricket Team middle-order batter Suryakumar Yadav had the opportunity to attain the No.1 position with a good batting performance in the 3rd T20I match against South Africa at the Holkar Cricket Stadium in Indore on Tuesday, October 4. However, he managed to score only 8 runs in the game.

The battle between India’s Suryakumar and Pakistan’s Rizwan will continue over the next month when the Men In Blue and the Men In Green take part in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022.

Star India National Cricket Team opening batsman KL Rahul has climbed seven spots to 14th in the ICC Men’s T20I Batting Rankings and veteran off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin has jumped 28 places to 20th in the ICC Men’s T20I Bowling Rankings.

From South Africa, Quinton de Kock attained the 12th spot, Rilee Rossouw jumped to the 20th spot and David Miller attained the 29th spot. Also, England’s Dawid Malan has moved to the 5th spot after a good performance against Pakistan and his teammate Ben Duckett has climbed to 24th position.

Meanwhile, Josh Hazlewood retained his No.1 position in the ICC Men’s T20I Bowling Rankings and Afghanistan spinner Rashid Khan attained the No.2 position.

Sri Lanka star Wanindu Hasaranga has jumped to No.3 and Australia spinner Adam Zampa has jumped to No.4 after South Africa’s Tabraiz Shamsi and England’s Adil Rashid each dropped three spots inside the top 10. Also, South Africa’s Keshav Maharaj has jumped seven spots to 10th.

Talking about the ICC Men’s T20I All-rounder Rankings, Mohammad Nabi has retained his No.1 position and star India all-rounder Hardik Pandya has dropped one spot to fifth.
