Suryakumar Yadav Makes Batting Look Way Easier Than It Is - Dinesh Karthik
Dinesh Karthik heaped praise on Indian middle-order batter, Suryakumar Yadav, stating that the 30-year-old is extremely good at making batting look much easier than it actually is.
Suryakumar was kept out of the first two ODIs against South Africa, before finally getting an opportunity to play in the third ODI. He immediately made an impression, scoring a brisk 39 before being dismissed while attempting a flick.
Speaking about the Mumbaikar, Karthik reckoned it is hard to set fields for him as he can easily manipulate them. “Suryakumar Yadav is batting on a different planet altogether, the kind of shots, the kind of positions, and the execution put together.”
“He made batting look way easier than it was in that situation. Give him a long run, I’m sure he will do wonders for India. But, he needs a long run, now every time he comes out, he is under pressure from the players above and below him. It is very hard to set fields for him,” Karthik said on Cricbuzz.
“Think we are missing two key all-rounders here” – Dinesh Karthik
India’s best all-rounders Ravindra Jadeja and Hardik Pandya are both out of the tour with the former having an injury while the latter being dropped due to his form coupled with injury issues. With them in the playing XI, things could have been different in the SA series, as per Karthik.
South Africa managed to beat India 3-0 which happens to be their first whitewash in nearly two years.
