Special Mention To Our Slip Cordon And Closing Catchers - T Dilip
In a video shared by BCCI, Dilip praised the Indian players for their outstanding performances against Bangladesh in challenging conditions in Chennai and Kanpur. Dilip commended the slip cordon and catchers for their exceptional efforts on the field.
"I think whether it is humidity in Chennai or the challenging weather in Kanpur, I feel one thing was constant, the intent to convert those half chances into game-changing movements was very much evident. I Thought Two People Deserved This Medal - T Dilip
During the video, T Dilip named Rohit Sharma, KL Rahul, Yashasvi Jaiswal, and Mohammed Siraj as standout performers in the series. The fielding coach said that Jaiswal and Siraj were joint winners of the 'Impact Fielders of the Series' medals during the traditional ceremony in the dressing room.
"I think this time around we are two winners for this because I felt the effort at which we went about and Rohit said our catching percentage in this test was 97% which is really appreciable. I thought two people deserved this medal and someone who had every game passed on showed a lot of intent and none other than Yashasvi Jaiswal and Mohammed Siraj," Dilip added.
Yashasvi Jaiswal took two remarkable catches in the slip cordon during the second Test match. The young opening batter pulled off a stunning catch to dismiss Zakir Hasan in the first innings. He dove low to his right and completed the catch, and the TV umpire confirmed that Jaiswal had safely caught the ball.
Jaiswal made another impressive catch to dismiss Shadman Islam in the second innings. Shadman was well-settled at the crease after scoring a half-century. The Indian player showed quick reflexes and secured the catch in just 0.53 seconds. He was brilliant on the field throughout the recent Test series.
Mohammed Siraj also took an impressive catch while backpedaling in the first innings to dismiss Shakib Al Hasan, who mistimed a lofted shot off Ravichandran Ashwin. KL Rahul took a fantastic catch to remove Mominul Haque on the fifth and final day of the Kanpur Test in the recent home series.
