Veteran India leg-spinner Amit Mishra named Varun Chakravarthy the one Indian bowler that can be difficult to negotiate for the Pakistani batters when India and Pakistan meet in the T20 World Cup 2021 on October 24 in Dubai International Cricket stadium.

India and Pakistan are placed in Group 2 of the Super 12s round of the T20 World Cup along with Afghanistan, Scotland, and New Zealand, who will be joined by another qualifier from Group A.

India enjoys a 7-0 lead over Pakistan in the T20 World Cups, including beating them in the final of the inaugural edition of the tournament in 2007 in South Africa. The two teams last met in the 2016 edition of the T20 World Cup in Eden Gardens in Kolkata, and India beat Pakistan thanks to a Virat Kohli special innings.

However, Amit Mishra believes that this time around as well, the Pakistani batters will find it difficult to face Indian bowlers, especially the mystery spin of Varun Chakravarthy.

Pakistan Players Will Find It Difficult To Deal With Varun Chakravarthy: Amit Mishra

Varun Chakravarthy has captured the imaginations of all the Indian cricket fans thanks to his performances in the IPL 2020 and IPL 2021 for the Kolkata Knight Riders team. Varun has been one of the most successful spinners in the Indian Premier League despite some injury issues.

Varun had an exceptional IPL 2021 with 18 wickets from 17 games at an economy rate of 6.5 with the best bowling of 3/13. He had taken a fifer in IPL 2020, the only one of that edition of the tournament. Varun also made his India debut on the Sri Lanka tour in July, where he picked 2 wickets in the 3-T20I series in Colombo.

“Indian cricketers have found it difficult to read Varun Chakravarthy despite being very good players of spin bowling. Pakistan players have not even seen Varun bowling.

“And on these UAE wickets, which will get drier in the next one month, Pakistan players will find it difficult to deal with Varun,” Amit Mishra said while speaking at Salaam Cricket 2021 in Dubai.

Both the teams will be eager to face one another to relieve the intense pressure on their shoulders with expectations of billions of fans to fulfill.
