Former Pakistan skipper Danish Kaneria was quite critical of BCCI conducting IPL first ahead of the T20 World cup 2021 and reckoned it has hurt India’s chances. India has lost their first two games in their campaign in the T20 World cup 2021, and their chances of making the semi-finals are slim.
India had a lot of expectations from all ends of the tournament, and they never played like the title contenders. However, with the losses against Pakistan and New Zealand, their fate has gone out of their hands, and the former cricketers had lashed out at the Indian team for their poor performances.
Danish Kaneria Lashes Out At BCCI For Not Keeping The Players Fresh
Danish Kaneria questioned the BCCI of whether conducting IPL before the T20 World cup was ideal and has opined that the players haven’t had enough time to regroup. He added that India has been under scrutiny for conducting IPL first.
“Was conducting the IPL just before a big tournament, right? Shouldn’t they be given proper rest and time to regroup and fresh? They were already coming from the Test series. Now they have paid the price of conducting the IPL first,” said Kaneria on his YouTube Channel.
“Highly Doubtful If They Will Win Against Afghanistan” – Danish Kaneria
Danish Kaneria reckoned that India deserves to be out of the chances for semi-finals now after the poor cricket they have played and doubted if they will win against Afghanistan. He felt that India’s performance was worse than a club game.
“It’s good now that India are out because they deserve this, the kind of cricket they played. And now it’s also highly doubtful if they will win against Afghanistan,”
“It seemed like they weren’t playing International cricket but worse than club cricket also,” Kaneria added.
India will have to win the remaining three games and hope that Afghanistan win against New Zealand if they have to progress to the semi-finals of the T20 World Cup 2021.
