T20 World Cup 2021: Peter Fulton Feels New Zealand Will Seek Revenge For The World Cup 20215 Final Loss

Former New Zealand batsman Peter Fulton reckoned that the Kiwis will not spare Australia this time and does see his country winning the ICC T20 World Cup 2021 title. The Blackcaps have played some outstanding cricket in the tournament and they managed to beat the tournament favourites England in the semi-finals.

Australia on the other hand has been dominating the ICC tournament for the last two decades and has won more ICC tournaments than any other country. They have got all the experience to win the encounter and have won against the same opponent in the 2015 World Cup final.

Peter Fulton reckoned that the final will go down to the wire and sees New Zealand confident after the series win at the start of the year. He added that the team that has a bit of luck might go on to win their maiden T20 World Cup trophy and noted that New Zealand will not lose to Australia again like in the 2015 World cup final or 2019 World cup final loss to England.

“It is going to be a pretty close game. New Zealand played Australia in a five-match series earlier this year and they won 3-2. I think it will be a very close game. New Zealand will win. It will come down to the last couple of overs.

“The team which will have a little bit of luck will probably win the match. I see New Zealand winning the title this time. They won’t spare Australia this time,” Peter Fulton told Times Of India.

“They Are Consistent In All Three Formats” – Peter Fulton On New Zealand’s Chances

Peter Fulton revealed that New Zealand will the favourites for the finals according to him and mentioned their consistency levels in the last three years. He added about the squad boasting a lot of match-winners and praised Daryl Mitchell on taking New Zealand home in semis.

“We lost the final in 2015 and 2019. We then won the Test championship and now the T20 World Cup final is here. New Zealand will be the favourites to win the title. They have been really at their best in the last three years.

They are one of the best sides in the world. They are consistent in all three formats. Some world-class players and talented players are in the squad. We saw how Daryl Mitchell took the side home in the semifinals against England,” he added.
