The much-awaited ICC T20 World Cup 2024 will get underway later this week. The ninth edition of the T20 World Cup is scheduled to be played from June 1 in the United States of America and the West Indies.

One of the biggest games of the marquee event is undoubtedly the clash between India and Pakistan. The arch-rivals are in Group A alongside USA, Canada, and Ireland and are set to face each other at least once in the tournament.

The highly-anticipated game is scheduled to be played on June 9 in New York. India have dominated the fixture over the years and will be looking to get the better of Pakistan again. On the other hand, Pakistan have a strong team and they will be backing themselves to stun their fancied opponents.

India vs Pakistan in T20 World Cup head-to-head record:

India and Pakistan have been playing against each other in the T20 World Cup since the inaugural edition in 2007 and the former have the upper hand in this fixture. In the inaugural edition, India and Pakistan played two games against each other including the final and the Men in Blue had won on both occasions.

After 2007, they did not play against each other in 2009 and 2010 before locking horns in each edition since 2012. India won the games against Pakistan in 2012, 2014, and 2016 before suffering a loss for the first time in 2021. India, however, bounced back in style by winning the game against Pakistan in the T20 World Cup 2022.

Overall, India and Pakistan have played seven games against each other in the T20 World Cup so far and the former have won six of those.
