Ravindra Jadeja is optimistic about India’s chances going into the upcoming T20 World Cup which will be held in the United Arab Emirates. The squad is yet to be announced but it’s more than likely that India’s premier all-rounder will make the side.

India last won the T20 World Cup back in 2007, when the inaugural edition was played. Expectations of an Indian victory have been high ever since, but India has failed to lay their hands on the trophy. They came the closest in 2014 when they reached the finals only to be beaten by Sri Lanka. This time around, India is endowed with talented players and has a good shot at winning the elusive trophy.

Chennai Super Kings all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja is more than ready to face the challenge. While speaking to Times of India, the 32-year-old revealed that playing for the country is a special feeling especially at big-ticket tournaments like the World Cups.

Definitely, it’s a good opportunity to make my team win this time in the T20 World Cup. Whenever I get an opportunity, I try to give my 100%. I feel good representing my country in a big sporting event like the World Cup. It’s a special feeling,” Jadeja was quoted as saying.

Ravi Shastri may part ways with the team after the T20 World Cup

Indian team’s head coach Ravi Shastri’s contract runs out after the conclusion of the 2021 T20 World Cup. It has been reported that Shastri, along with his support staff, may decide to call it quits after the mega event. He was appointed as the full-time coach of the national side back in 2017.

The BCCI will most likely start accepting applications for the role if the news is confirmed. There are likely to be a lot of options, with certain officials stating that Rahul Dravid is the front-runner if he decides to apply. However, he was unsure about it when asked during the Sri Lankan tour last month.

Although the team failed to win an ICC trophy under Shastri’s tenure, he will still go down as one of India’s best coaches, having two wins on Australian soil under his belt. The team also reached the final of the World Test Championship (WTC) a couple of months ago.
