"Team India’s Comeback Was Because of Their Never-Say-Die Attitude" – Salman Butt

Former Pakistan skipper Salman Butt has heaped praise on the Indian team’s fightback against England on Day 3 of the first Test at Trent Bridge. Butt pointed out that Team India is well ahead at the moment and if they play according to their standards, they should be able to seal the win.
After suffering a collapse on Day 2, India resumed their pursuit of England’s 183 with KL Rahul and Rishabh Pant leading the way. The latter showed early signs of aggression and score at more than run-a-ball. He was dismissed by Ollie Robinson, however, before he could inflict more pain on the England bowlers.
“India’s comeback was because of their never-say-die attitude they have developed in recent years. Their lesser-experienced guys like KL Rahul and Rishabh Pant stepped up. India tried their best and everybody pitched in to get that vital 95-run lead. Now, it’s up to the bowlers and it all depends on how they respond to the situation.”
“If England’s lead does not go above 200, it’s possible for India to win the match” – Salman Butt
In response, England openers stood their ground and saw off the 11-odd overs bowled before rain intervened. Going into Day 4, the pitch might deteriorate further and the added overcast conditions that are forecast will help India get on top, according to Butt.
The fourth day’s play could well determine which team comes out on top granted the intermittent rain that’s been bugging Nottingham stays away.
